This project is in line with IRD’s strategy, which aims at producing a science committed to a sustainable future, for sustainable and human development, in the framework of an equitable scientific partnership with developing countries, in particular those of the intertropical regions and the Mediterranean area. Moreover, the objectives of the CECC project are also in line with the agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals, the implementation of which is one of the priorities of the IRD.

This project is in line with AFD’s strategy to contribute to the economic, social and environmental progress of low and middle-income countries by providing support in the form of loans, grants, expertise or technical assistance in a wide range of areas: climate, biodiversity, energy, etc. In addition, AFD Group, through its “100% Paris Agreement” objective, aims to finance projects that are part of low-carbon and climate change resilient development trajectories.
